Mission StatementIdaho Falls Rescue Mission exists to serve, rescue, and transform those in greatest need through the power and grace of Jesus Christ, using the resources provided by our donors, volunteers and our community.Statement of Faith(Adapted from the AGRM and the Truth for Life Statements)1. We believe the scriptures of the Old & New Testament to be verbally inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority. (2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16; Luke 24:27; Matt. 5:18) 2. We believe in one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. (Duet. 6:4; Isaiah 45:57; 1 Cor. 8:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14) 3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary. (Matt. 1:18-23; Luke 2:26-35; John 1:14,18; 3:16,18; Heb. 11:17; 1 John 4:9; Phil 2:5-8) 4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the life of the believer and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. (1 Cor. 2:10-13; Eph. 4:30; 1 Cor. 12:11; John 16:7-13) 5. We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Gen. 2:7,15-25; James 3:9; John 3:36; Rom. 3:23; 6:23; 1 Cor. 2:14; Eph. 2:1-3; 1 John 1:8) 6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (John 10:15; Rom. 3:24-25; 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24) 7. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us. (Matt. 28:6; Luke 24:38-39; Rom. 4:25; 8:24; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1) 8. We believe in the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16; Titus 2:13; Rev. 22:20) 9. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life. (John 3:6-7; 1 Cor. 12:12-13) 10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell and the fellowship of the saved in heaven. (Matt. 25:41; John 5:22; Rev. 20:9-15) 11. We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men and that he and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their personal Savior will eternally perish. (Isaiah 14:12-17; Gen. 3:1-15) 12. We believe in the Church, which is made up of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church’s mission is to glorify God and proclaim the Scriptures to all the world. (Eph. 2:11-3:6,21; Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8; 2:42) |
