Why I serve at IFRM?

“When asked why I serve at IFRM, I think of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25, where He calls us to care for ‘the least of these’—the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the sick, and those in need. I have always felt called to live this out in my daily life. As I prayed about where God wanted me to serve, He clearly led me to IFRM. It is a privilege to continue that calling by serving those in our community and walking alongside the work God is doing through this Mission.”

Why I serve at IFRM?

“I felt I could make a difference in people’s lives. I look at it like renovating a house. Some homes have to be totally gutted to bring them back to life, while others just need new paint and flooring. I see how helping people through Jesus restores and rebuilds their lives according to their needs. I love that about IFRM. Rebuilding the broken and making them new again in Jesus name.

Why I serve at IFRM?

“When asked why I serve at IFRM, the answer comes straight from Scripture: to serve ‘the least of these.’ In Matthew 25:40, Jesus teaches that when we serve those in need, we are serving Him. IFRM aligns with my faith and values, and it has been a true joy to serve alongside the staff, volunteers, and the guests we are honored to support.”

Why I serve at IFRM?

“I serve because I truly love this community, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact IFRM can have. The Haven Family Shelter supported a member of my own family during a difficult time, and that experience changed everything for me. It’s more than just a program—it’s hope when people need it most. Being part of IFRM allows me to help raise awareness and give back so others can experience that same care and support.”

It’s about walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives and discover lasting change. Being part of that kind of transformation is incredibly meaningful, and I’m grateful to play even a small role in it.”

Why I serve at IFRM?

“I serve because I believe deeply in the mission and the people it serves. Everyone deserves a safe place to sleep and a chance to move forward, and IFRM is doing that every day. What especially draws me in is that the work is rooted in the Gospel—it’s not just about meeting physical needs, but about offering hope and purpose. I want to be part of something that truly changes lives.”

IFRM creates opportunities to do just that, offering hope, compassion, and support to those who need it most. I’m grateful to be part of work that truly impacts lives.”
