Why Volunteer?
At Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, volunteering is more than giving your time—it is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Every day, we meet people in moments of crisis, carrying stories of loss, addiction, and uncertainty. Through compassion, dignity, and the love of Jesus, those stories can be transformed into stories of hope. Often, the first step toward recovery begins with a simple act of kindness—someone showing up, listening, and caring.
Andrew’s story is a powerful example. When he arrived, he was homeless, struggling with addiction, and unsure if restoration was possible. Through the Navigate program and the encouragement of people who refused to give up on him, he found healing. Today, Andrew is sober, attending school, and working at the very place that helped rebuild his life. His journey reminds us that every interaction matters.
We invite you to prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to serve. Whether you have an hour a week or simply a heart to help, your presence can bring hope and lasting change to those in need. Together, we can restore lives—one person at a time.
