Volunteering It starts with YOU making a difference!

Cooking a Meal for those in Need

A 6:00 pm dinner is served every night to residents and folks in need from the area. We serve on average 75 people a night. We have an amazing team of volunteers who give of their time and skills to ensure our guests have a warm meal 365 days out of the year. All food is prepared in our kitchen and served to our guests by our volunteers and we encourage them to eat with the residents which allows them to get to know them. Clean up is performed by City Of Refuge residents as part of their routine chores. This is a great opportunity for groups to serve. If you’d like to learn more about how to be apart of our cooking team please fill out our IFRM Volunteer Application and we will contact you in a timely manner.

Be Part of our Thrift Store Team

We have 2 thrift store locations in Idaho Falls: 830 Park Ave and 1570 N. Holmes Ave. Our stores are open Monday through Saturday and offer an assortment of interesting value-priced items awaiting treasure shoppers. We offer free clothing vouchers and household items for Mission guests and to those who are in need in the community. As one of our volunteer you could greet the public, run the cash register, or sort donated items. These stores not only provide clothing for those in need, they also give skilled job training to individuals who need it and income for our ministry. We’d ask our thrift volunteers to be able to commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week. If you have retail, or sorting experience or you would like to learn more about working in this setting please fill out our IFRM Volunteer Application and we will be in touch with you soon.
